Royal Pythons

(Python regius)

These small stout African pythons have become the biggest of all ‘morph’ species in recent years due to their small size and the wide variety of stunning colour and pattern morphs available.

They varry considerably in size but range between 3.5 to 5ft and 1.25kg for small males to 5kg fo some exceptional large females. In Africa their natural range is from West Africa across to Central Africa where they are found in the Savannah bushveld, around the edge of forests and in the semi arid grasslands. They naturally eat small mammals such as Jird species which they hunt down at night often entering the burrows of the prey to kill it underground.
